I have been in 2moons since the first day of beta; I remember waiting anxiously for almost a year for it to come out. I am originally a fps gamer, coming from a game named SOF2 (Soldier of Fortune Double Helix 2). I learned of 2moons dil by chance, looking for a game that is free and looks awesome, and honestly I expected to find nothing. Well, really I didn't find anything, because this game wasn't coming out for a year still, and I couldn't get into the closed betas, so I just remained a registered member until open beta came out. Now, I was deadset on what character I was picking. I, coming from rakion and guild wars as well, wanted to be a complete tank. Just some character that could sit there and at it's leisure, attack and own everything around it.
From reading the website I understood that my choice was to be a Bagi. So I made a bagi as soon as I got home from school the day it came out. I hit level 34 in a matter of 8 hours, (coming from rakion, 2moons dil was the fastest exp. I had ever seen) and then went to Nunvice. I slowed down a lot for the rest of the week, only getting to 42 by the time a mage named Summerlight found me in back of parca doing cq's (Commision Quests). Needless to say, I knew her for only about an hour when she called in SolidStoner. Now, being only a few days into beta, I really had not seen anyone above my level, until of course Solid stepped in...I was flabbergasted at his bagi, being lvl 48, his set looked amazing. He let me into Seraphim, and from there I became good friends with him, Summerlight, and Versify. Through Versify I began to become friends with EmptyMator, and Mistress, and later many other people in Brannigan's Law from Reptilelord to Koltz.
The grind for me from 50-55 really killed me. Everyone else I knew (in bran law especially) quickly and easily gained level, and were far into, and even some were OUT of Crespo Dungeon already by the time I got into Crespo. I mostly soloed myself to 60, just as I had to 55, mostly because I didn't know anyone my level that would help me out, and everyone else I knew were at least 20 levels over me, and would never even think of helping me to 60. Once I got to 60, I slowly worked my way up to 80, and finally hit Python. By the time I got to Python Empty was now close to wings. At level 85, because FE (Far East) was ALWAYS full, as well as FW ( Far West) and the middle portion of the map, with parties, I had to solo myself to 88. I ended up quiting around 3 times between the levels of 84 and 85. By the time I came back the last time at 85, fe had slowed down a lot, so I took advantage of it and went there every chance I could. I also did DeadFront, because it had just come out and I was on the high side of the group I would be in. Versify and SolidStoner ended up leaving 2moons dil at the levels of 92 (Versify)-Hunter and 102 (SolidStoner). This really hurt, because they left about a week before I had gotten myself to Crevice Dungeon, and I had never actually been with them since I had first joined the guild.
Make a long long long story shorter than otherwise, 90-114 was brutal. I never got to know anyone in dungeons, and I was always in a guild that was dead or way over me level-wise. I am currently level 114 and 14% 10/22/08.
The entire point of this post is to convey this message by showing my experiences...When you get into your group of friends, really keep up with them, otherwise, depending on your class, and what is going on-people leaving the game, new people coming in, friends leveling very fast, unable to get friends or get a guild that helps, etc.-you may have a hard time leveling. Obviously this is my experience, which isn't really bad at all, it just sucks at times. 2moons dil is a growing communitiy in which changes may happen swiftly. Therefore you must keep on your toes, and be ready for opportunities; just like the real world.
