I Can't Quit You
Overall, this game has an odd appeal that keeps me coming back despite the many many flaws. The combat is exhilarating, and you will feel powerful playing your character more so than most MMOs. No other game will both delight you and frustrate you like 2Moons. If you have a high tolerance for hacking and grinding, you really should give it a shot. If the cons in this review make you want to pull your hair out, you might want to stay with a pay-to-play game.
Gameplay Mechanics: 4.5 out of 5 (there are some wonky things like needing to click on mobs to target them that keeps this from being a 5, no auto-select button like "TAB". Pets will frustrate the hell out of anyone trying to target something remotely close to them. And with as much gold spam as there is, how is there NO ignore function???)
PvE: 3 out of 5 (needs more content, more instanced dungeons)
PvP: 4 out of 5
Graphics: 4 out of 5 (looks pretty slick at highest graphical settings, but the game is a few years old so you can't hide that)
Technical Performance: 2 out of 5 (frequent disconnects and game-freezing FTL)
Support: 1 out of 5 (they're trying, they're just understaffed and don't have the power to fix the big flaws)
Community: 2 out of 5
Lasting Value: 4 out of 5 (there are more updates on the way; high level cap)
Fun Factor: 4 out of 5
All in all, I give this game a 3.5 out of 5. It is still worth checking out, flaws and all.
EDIT: As of Update 4.5, a few additions to the game have improved the game (and worsened it in some people's eyes). They added new segnale and summoner skills. They improved the chat interface so game information is separated from chat, making it MUCH easier to communicate while playing. They added a blacklist feature so that you can make it so that you will not see chat from spammers or anyone else that is annoying you. They also added a mailbox making it easy to send in-game currency or items to other players (or your own). Most of these changes were welcome. (Although I believe the mail system is currently bugged.) What was not welcome (to most players) is the addition of ossuaries (a bundle of ingame items) to the cash shop. 2moons dil has always had one of the most "subtle" cash shops in any 2moons dil game. One of the ossuaries features "Caligo's Ring" a ring whose stat effects can be stacked with multiple copies of the same ring. It only lasts three days. But the accumulated effect of four Caligo rings at once completely breaks the balance of the game. Also, the rise of private servers, mounting frustration with Acclaim/Gamehi deficiencies, and lack of a big content update (Action 5 - the Aloken update- was expected earlier this year, but it still has not been released) have all contributed to a decreased player population. Hacker and spammers persist. The upgrading system is as brutal as ever. I currently do not play this game any more.
