It must be said too that the upgrading system is beyond frustrating. The system is based on argates, gems which when successfully applied to gear will add a +1 ro +9 on your gear (but the increases are only +1 at a time.). Every time you use an argate, there is a chance that the argate will fail, and your gear will return to 0. And of course, as your gear gets higher in upgraded status, there is a greater chance to fail. This is bad because argates are extremely expensive, so faling REALLY hurts. What is worse is that if you fail on +7 and higher, your gear will be destroyed completely! So all your argates, money, time, etc. will completely be wiped away and result in NOTHING. Argating is risky, unnerving, but it can be exhilarating when you roll the dice and actually win. But when you do the math and from experience, you will usually end up losing a lot, and if you are an honest player, your losses will be catastrophic in this game. For all the risks, the argating system can be oddly addicting, almost like a high-risk poker game. And just like gambling, you run the risk of losing everything.
Remember how I mentioned the 20-30 monsters rushing you all at once and the crazy skills with cool animations hitting those mobs for massive damage? The bad thing about that is all of it MURDERS your framerate. The game can get extremely laggy causing frequent freezing and disconnects. This is also frustrating because it tends to happen in dungeons/instances that cost money or are difficult to get into.
Another problem in this game is that it does get quite grindy. The problem in games like this, that makes them grindy is that there is simply not enough to do. At certain levels, you literally will be doing the SAME dungeon for 30 levels or more, and there will be surprisingly little to do besides that same dungeon. Plus, having the fast-paced damage dealing skills doesn't always make things go faster when you can only aggro three mobs at a time (without hacking... however, summoners can aggro more with their pet). Acclaim has helped the grind by creating experience events which happen mostly on the weekends where you get 2x (or more) the normal experience. Plus, Deadfront, a team-based event which gives great experience, happens more frequently now and as of the most recent update, it is easier to get in than ever before.
